The campground itself is beautiful, and they have access from the delaware which is nice. The bathrooms were clean the first day then after that they went to hell. The shower wasn't clean and I can handle some dirt and grime. They didn't have any toilet paper for like 4 hours even after letting the people at the front know. Worst part was the people around us were so damn loud and disrespectful, using their radio until 1:30am. Told the people at the front desk and nothing came of it and the same proceeded to happen the next night. They def need someone at night to control these people, especially since there was a family with a 5 year old next to us.
huge campground with a lot of tent sites. clean and nice bathroom/ showers.
Site loaded with poison ivy, and we had a 3 legged picnic table. The solution to the picnic table was stacking some scrap wood and rocks to bring a side up a bit. $7 for 5 pieces of green pine. The bathhouse was beyond gross. There was literally excitement on the floor in the shower. Also, their "general store" had nothing but empty shelves. Considering how remote this location is you were up the creek if you forgot something.
Absolutely worst camping experience ever!
I requested a refund for the two days I wasn't staying, and was told it wasn't possible. I asked to speak to the manager or owner of the concession. He refused to contact them or give me contact information. These people just take your money and don't take care of anything else.
Informed the office in the morning, they said they'll have the rangers look in to it . Next night was worse, cars driving around blasting music and yelling at 1 am. There were people from tent sites throwing out at least 5 bags of beer cans and more trash. Not in the dumpster, but on top and on the ground. The smell of trash from our site was unbearable. We had planned on staying 4 nights, but had enough after the second day. The kid in the office didn't care at all, and was quite rude and condescending. I complained about the drinking and drugs. His response was we can't prove what site it's at so we don't care. The campers were throwing out the empties across from the office right now! He said it wasn't his problem. He also was condescending that I didn't call the rangers myself. There is no public phone, and no cell service in the area.
everything was great ( although its a bummer youre not allowed to drink alcohol) but certanelly dosn't justify 40 dollars a night.
This place does get a lot of bad reviews! The campground itself is very beautiful, wooded sites, close to the river, decent bathrooms, close to great trails in the rec area. The biggest downfall was that are site and most of the others are close enough to the busy road that you can hear the traffic of motorcycles and 18 wheelers all night. Also this campground is very expensive.
First night was loud and all we could smell was pot. Mind you no drugs or alcohol here, so I thought a nice quiet place for the kids.
I've had better times in Walmart parking lots.
The map of the campsite layout didn't seem very accurate, and at the time I visited it seemed a little over stuffed, and under staffed. But I still had a great time.
